Mrs. Alma Christine Gay Jordan, 86, of Columbia, died Saturday, June 14, 2014. Born September 25, 1927, in Durham, NC, she was a daughter of the late Brad Ricman Gay and Florence Irene Keith Gay.
A faithful and active member of Radiant Life Church, Mrs. Jordan is survived by her son, Boyd Larry Jordan, Jr. (Shirley) of Elgin, SC; daughters, Barbara Smith (James) of Columbia, Christine Driver (Ray) of Elgin, SC; grandchildren, Brenda White, Carl Driver, Kevin Smith, Brian Jordan, Stephanie Kline, and Ashley Giffen; eleven great grandchildren; four great- great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Teasley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Larry Jordan; sisters, Burma Roberson, Bertha Brogden, Mabel Teasley, Nellie Creech, and Lila Mae Ferrell.
A funeral service for Mrs. Jordan will be held 10 o'clock, Tuesday, June 17th, at Radiant Life Church, with The Rev. Bob Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Dr., Columbia.
