Alonzo Williams Shealy, 89, of West Columbia, died on Sunday, April 20, 2025. Born in Richland County, SC, on September 28, 1935, he was a son of the late William Daniel and Esther Mae Williams Shealy. Mr. Shealy retired after over 20 years from the United States Air Force where he served as a Computer Engineer. At his retirement, Mr. Shealy had earned the rank of E-6. Following his military service in the Air Force, he furthered his education at the University of South Carolina. He later began a 2nd career with Digital Equipment Corporation. After 15 years there, he was offered an early retirement which he took. His joy was life itself, which he lived to the fullest. He was a loving and devoted Father who was always present and there for his wife and three sons.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Gladys Shealy, David Shealy and Tommy Shealy.

Survivors include Claudie Jean Shealy; sons, Michael Anthony Shealy (Beverly), Kenneth Mark Shealy (Christina), Steven Allen Shealy (Becky); five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; as well as 24 nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Mr. Shealy will be held at 12 o'clock, Tuesday, April 29th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC. Burial will follow the service at 1 o'clock, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 11 o'clock.
