The Rev. Amos E. Hann, Jr., 79, of Columbia, died Monday, October 28, 2013. Born April 3, 1934, in Udall, KS, he was a son of the late Amos Elmer Hann, Sr. and Velma Mae Crumrine Hann.
Rev. Hann spent his life in the service of his Lord as pastor and evangelist for 57 years. He was pastor for over 25 years of the Covenant Community Fellowship, served on the boards of the International Holiness Convention and the Hobe Sound Evangelistic Association, Hobe Sound, FL. Rev. Hann was also a member of the steering committee for the Church of the Bible Covenant, served as Regional Presiding officer of the North Lake Central Region from 1967 to 1976 and as President of Covenant Foundation College in Greenfield, IN from 1983-1986. He served The Church of the Nazarene from 1956 to 1967 in Texas and Indiana.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Elisabeth Hann; daughters, Martha (Dennis) Ropp of Gainesville, FL, Mary (The Rev. Terrie) Hay of Columbia; sons, Rev. Nathan (Susi) Hann of Kansas City, KS, David (Elva) Hann of Tulsa, OK; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and sisters, Naomi Gappa and Marietta Collins, both of Atlanta, GA.
A funeral service for Rev. Hann will be held 3 o'clock, Friday, November 1st, at Covenant Community Fellowship, with The Rev. Dr. William Sillings officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery, Old Sloan Road, Columbia. The family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home. The family suggests that memorials be made to the church at 1111 Mason Rd, Columbia, SC 29203.
