Angela Brown McCall, 50, of Elgin, died Saturday, November 12, 2022. Born February 29, 1972, in Columbia, SC, she is a daughter of Chris Larry Brown and the late Mary Evelyn Wilson.
Angela received her bachelor's degree in education from Winthrop University and later earned her master's degree. Prior to her retirement, she was a National Board-Certified teacher and was employed for 28 years by Kershaw County School District. During her tenure with Kershaw County School District, Angela spent 13 years teaching at Doby's Mill Elementary School in Lugoff and 13 years teaching in the gifted and talented program, SEAGUL. She was an excellent educator who received many accolades, including, Teacher of The Year. Following her retirement, Angela focused her talents teaching online to homeschooled children using Faith Co-op and Oasis Co-op. She also volunteered her time by serving on the board of CHEC, an online homeschool support group.
Angela was a member of Spears Creek Baptist Church, where she served on many committees and was the director of the Children's Ministry from 2018-2022. She was a gifted artist and most recently had returned to her photography business, Happy Clicker. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her family. Angela cherished every moment spent with each of them, especially her two daughters, husband, and father.
Surviving in addition to her father of Elgin and his wife, Mary Ruth Brown, known as "bonus mother", are her husband, Mark Charles McCall, III; daughters, Molly and Macy McCall; brother, Kevin Brown (Krissy); sisters, Ginger Bove (Eric) and Barbara Kramer; stepbrothers, Thomas Grady Brown, Jr. (Kim), Michael Layne Brown (Donna), and Robert Lyle Brown (Cortney); as well as a multitude of other family and friends. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Rex Aaron Brown, as well as a brother-in-law, Al Kramer.
The funeral service for Mrs. McCall will be held at 2 o'clock, Saturday, November 19th at Spears Creek Baptist Church, 116 Spears Creek Church Ln, Elgin, SC 29045. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends following the burial in the church gymnasium. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
