Anice Catoe Bauknight went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 18, 2013. Born in the Mt. Pisgah Community of Kershaw County on April 24, 1930, Anice was the daughter of the late Zellie Armstrong and Mamie Hilton Catoe. She graduated from Mt. Pisgah High School and Draughon's Business College in Columbia. Before her marriage to Holmes L. Bauknight, Jr. on September 8, 1951, she worked for the Credit Bureau and Siebels Bruce in Columbia. After raising her children, she was employed by the Social Security Administration in Baltimore, Maryland, as well as in Columbia.

Anice was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Pine Garden Club. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and the family pets.

Surviving are her husband; daughter, Susan B. Smith; sons, Kenneth H. Bauknight (Jenny) and Russell L. Bauknight (Beth); grandchildren, Amanda Timmerman (Joe), Amy Smith, Kevin Bauknight, Katie Bauknight, Abby Bauknight, Henry Bauknight; great-granddaughter, Jane Timmerman; and sisters, Jo Weiters and Albertine Jones. In addition to her parents, Anice was preceded in death by her grandson, Blair Bauknight; sister, Myrtis Catoe; and brothers, Edwin and Woodrow Catoe.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Leslie Stuck, the caring staff at the Heritage at Lowman-Bethany Building, and to Lutheran Hospice.

The funeral service for Mrs. Bauknight will be held 11:30 o'clock, Wednesday, March 20th, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with The Dr. Rev. George T. Head officiating. Burial will follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends in the Gathering Room of the church, prior to the service, beginning at 10 o'clock.
