A memorial service for Anita Thee Graham will be held Monday, December 11, 2017, at 1 o'clock at St. Martin's in-the-Fields Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the Garden Room at 1:45. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family. Mrs. Graham died Friday, December 8, 2017, at the age of 88. Born in Brookline, MA, she was the daughter of the late Col. Walter C. and Edith Thee. She graduated from Dreher High School, attended Mary Baldwin College and graduated from U.S.C. Class of 1950. In 1951, she married James Gardiner Graham to whom she was married for 64 years. They joined St. Martin's-inthe-Fields Episcopal Church where she was a charter member and active in many activities. Mrs. Graham was a member of the Women of the Church where she served as President, St. Hilda's Guild, Sunday school teacher for many years and served on the Vestry. She was a Stephen Minister, who completed the Bethel Bible Studies and taught both the Old and New Testaments. She was a member of the Columbia Museum of Art, the Quadrille Club, Forest Lake Club, and the Mary Baldwin Alumni Assoc. in which she served as President for two years. Anita and Jimmie were members of a Bridge Club made up of close friends who have met for over 60 years. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, and many other activities, especially those involving her four grandchildren.
Mrs. Graham is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mardi and 0. S. (Chip) Smith; son, James G. (Jay) Graham, Jr.; grandchildren, Graham E. Smith, Stan Smith IV (Mary Douglass), Mardi S. Fair (Banks), Connie S. Cathy (James); nine great grandchildren; and a brother, Christian Thee of Columbia.
