Anna (Ann) Ree Martin, 86, of Elgin, died on Thursday, December 28, 2023. Born in Pamplico, SC, on June 20, 1937, she was a daughter of the late John Ernest and Mary Ellen Turner Oakley. Mrs. Martin retired from Shakespeare after 25 years and then held her favorite job of being a grandmother and later great-grandmother. She enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, gardening and cooking. She and her late husband enjoyed going to Blue Grass Festivals and being active with the Shriner's hospital.

Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Scurry (Steve) and Donna Baughman (Eddie); nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Peggy Jeffords; sisters-in-law, Gloria Oakley, Darnell Davis and Patty Groff Yonce; and beloved dog, Sugar Baby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ervin Levern Miller and Malcome Martin; sons, Ervin and Kenneth; as well as special friend, Wayne Allen; siblings, Doris Munn, Nettie Meyers, Virginia Moore, and Jerry Oakley; sister-in-law Ijane Corder; and brother-in-law Jack Martin.

The funeral service for Mrs. Martin will be held at 1 o'clock, Wednesday, January 3rd, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 o'clock Tuesday evening.

Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Baughman, Steven Groff, Michael Greene, John Elvis, Ronnie Elvis, Jr., and Jerry Richardson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Elvis, Johnny Miles and Ray Miles.
