Anne Radcliffe Estefano's Obituary

A memorial service for Anne Radcliffe Estefano will be held at 4 o'clock, Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park will be private. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock, Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at The Palmetto Club, 1231 Sumter Street, Columbia. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.

Mrs. Estefano died Saturday, October 14, 2017. Born in Greenville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Holland and Edward Laclede Radcliffe. Anne attended Newport Grammar School and Cocke County High School. She graduated from East Tennessee Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Knoxville, Tennessee affiliated with the University of Tennessee. After more studies she was Board Certified as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse. She worked at the Department of Mental Health. Anne was a member and past president of the Gay Gardeners Garden Club, former member of the American Nurses Association and The Palmetto Club. She was an avid reader and loved the game of bridge.

Anne is survived by her sons, Daniel Sale Estefano of Washington, D.C.; David Sale Estefano and wife, Marjorie Lyall Heggie, and grandson, David Shand Estefano, all of Columbia; her daughter, Rebecca Estefano Jordan and husband, Timothy Keith Jordan, of Yonges Island, SC. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Alfonso Sale Estefano, M.D.; her sister, Marjorie Ruth Bueter-Bailey; and her niece, Ruth Anne Davis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Foundation, 1100 Sumter Street, Columbia, SC 29201; or to Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens, 500 Wildlife Parkway, Columbia, SC 29210.
