Entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 22, 2017, beloved mother and grandmother, Anne Clarke Rainville of Columbia, South Carolina.
Mrs. Rainville was a 1949 graduate of the University of South Carolina and a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. After graduating, she taught at the Sheridan School in Orangeburg. She was formerly married to H.B. Rainville, Jr. They lived in Orangeburg, Columbia, Charleston and Bradenton, Florida where they had many friends and enjoyed an active social life. Together they had four children; a son, Clarke (Brook) of Bradenton, Florida; three daughters, Wren (deceased), Marti Comyns of Columbia and Angel Hampton (Don) of Winfield, Illinois. Angel is the mother of Mrs. Rainville's four grandchildren: Leah, Adam, Jamie and Liza, whose lives she closely followed and with whom she enjoyed visits and visiting.
Mrs. Rainville was born in Columbia on January 14, 1929, the daughter of the late Robert T. and Doris Clarke. Her parents; her daughter, Wren; her sister, Mary Lytle; her brother, Robert Clark, Jr. and her former husband, Ben Rainville, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Rainville maintained an active circle of friends in Columbia some from as far back as her AC Moore Primary School days. She enjoyed her coterie of bridge playing friends where she was valued for her personal charm and her storytelling ability. Mrs. Rainville was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbia.
