Annie Ruth (McDowell) Ksen, 78, of Columbia, died Saturday, November 10, 2018. Born July 28, 1940, in Seneca, SC, she was a daughter of the late Clarence McDowell and Annie Smith McDowell. She was a loving homemaker who loved to cook for her family.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Bob Ksen; daughter, Mary Washington (Larry); sons, Alton Roper, Jr, (Theresa), Danny Ray Roper, Roy Lee Roper (Lynn); step-son, Billy Roper and step-daughter, Barbara Martin; sisters, Judy McDowell, Betty Norton, Irene Smithy (Charles); seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Alton Roper, Sr.; a step-daughter, Sandra Scruggs; brothers-in-law, Grover Norton and Bobby Wagner.

The funeral service for Ms. Ksen will be held 11 o'clock, Wednesday, November 14th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext, with Pastor Mark Crumpton officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 10 o'clock. Burial will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
