Annie Lou Thames Guyton, 93, of Columbia, died Friday, October 25, 2013. Born in Varnville, SC on December 13, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Henry Walker Thames and Alean Ginn. A charter member of Belmont Baptist Church, Mrs. Guyton was also a member of the Welcome Sunday School Class, and Woman's Missionary Union.
Survivors include daughters, Joanne (Richard) Lemox of Columbia, Judy Greer of Houston, TX, Libby (Paul) Price of Greenville; her sons, Danny Guyton of Irmo, Mike (Margaret) Guyton of Myrtle Beach, Ted (Karen) Guyton of Chapin, Jerry (Ann) Guyton of Chapin, Keith Guyton of Columbia; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Coleman Guyton; a sister, Betty Jean Baker; brothers, Joe, Elton, William and James Thames.
The funeral service for Mrs. Guyton will be held at 2 o'clock, Tuesday, October 29th at Belmont Baptist Church with The Rev. Brenda L. Kneece and The Rev. Harry S. Girtman officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock.
