April Delyn Lucas, 50, left this world, to be with her Maker, Monday, June 15th, 2020. Born November 11, 1969 in Columbia, SC.

The funeral service for Ms. Lucas will be held 4 o'clock, Thursday, June 18th, at Midway Independent Methodist Church, 8481 Old Percival Road, Columbia, SC with The Rev. Jerry Hacker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 3 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel is assisting the family.

In her youth, April enjoyed swimming, boat rides, going to the beach and four-wheel jeep rides, preferably with the rag top off, so she could feel the breeze against her skin, and let the red clay highlight her jet-black hair.

During her brief time on this earth, April had the unique capacity to touch the lives of everyone she came in contact with. Some of those lives, the ones who April truly loved (and you know who you are), had the special gift of being touched a little more aggressively than others.

Those left to cherish April's memory are her parents, Ann Oxley (Tom), Barry Lucas (Barbara); sister, Melody Lucas; step siblings Jason (Michelle), Giovannone; nieces and nephews Elijah Drake, Gabriella Holland, Jennifer (Austin) Andrade, Ashton, Sophia, her sister, Melody Lucas and nieces Bailey and Cameron McGlaughlin; along with an extended family too numerous to list.
