Arabella Diehl Massey of Lexington, SC, died Monday, September 1, 2014, at Cassels Healthcare Center, Presbyterian Community in Lexington. She was 94. Mrs. Massey was born on June 23, 1920 in Sayre, PA. She attended Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA. In 1943, she married Benjamin Henry Massey. Mrs. Massey was involved in church activities for most of her life, serving as an Elder in the Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Massey is survived by her four children, Florence M. Bridges, Benjamin D. Massey and wife Tracy, Jean M. Anthony and husband Bruce, and Samuel R.D. Massey and wife Susan. Mrs. Massey is also survived by seven grandchildren, their spouses; great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Paula J. Diehl and family. Proceeding her in death were her husband, Benjamin H. Massey; her brother, Frederick Meyer Diehl; son-in-law, Daniel M. Bridges; and great granddaughter, Trystan Claar Bechtel.
A memorial service for Mrs. Massey is planned for 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 27th, in the Chapel at the Presbyterian Home, Lexington, with Dr. Fran Bragan officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 10 am. A private interment will be held at Unity Cemetery in Fort Mill, SC.
