Armand Wilfrid Loranger, 88, of Columbia, died Friday, December 28, 2018. Mr. Loranger was born September 1, 1930, in Lowell, Massachusetts. He retired from the US Army after 22 years of service. During his enlistment, he honorably served in the Korean War and Vietnam War. Following his military career, Mr. Loranger was employed with East Richland County Public Service district, retiring at age 82. He loved entertaining, especially cooking meals for young adults. Mr. Loranger enjoyed playing cards with Ronnie, Peggy, and his wife. He will be remembered by his family as a devoted, husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ada Loranger; son, Norman Loranger (Sicily); and his granddaughter, Haley Marie Loranger.
The service for Mr. Loranger will be held 4:00 o'clock, Sunday, December 30th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia with Rev. James A. Goudelock officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening following the service until 7:00 o'clock at the funeral home.
Burial will be held 12:00 o'clock, Monday, December 31st, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd., Columbia.
