Arnold William Bober, 85, of Columbia, died Monday, February 17, 2014. Born May 5, 1928, in Milwaukee, WI, he was a son of the late Aloysius and Emily Janusz Bober. Mr. Bober retired from Square D Electric after 42 years of service, and was an active member of St. Theresa Catholic Church for 11 years, where he served as a Eucharistic minister and lector. He enjoyed sharing his faith with our men and women in the Armed Forces by teaching Catholic Christian Doctrine classes at Ft. Jackson and serving there as a Eucharistic minister. Arnold was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters for over 50 years.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Aldine Ann Harris Bober; six children, Paul (Rictoria) Bober, Cynthia (Tom) Lagatore, Jr., Annette (Curtis) Ocenas, Jonathan Bober, Aldeane (Joseph) Brock and Christopher (Casey) Bober; 13 grandchildren, Alia, Brandon, Brett, Lisa, Olivia, Jason, Shane, Sean, Cameron, EmilyAnn, Hannah, Logan, and Addison; six great grandchildren, Raylee and Samuel, Braden and Baylee, Landon and Alexa; as well as his brother, Aloysius Bober, Jr. and wife, Rosemary. In addition to his parents, Arnold was preceded in death by his brother, Alvin Bober; and sister, Ruth Bober.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Bober will be celebrated at St. Theresa Catholic Church, in Winnsboro, SC, 11 o'clock, Friday, February 21st, with The Rev. Fr. Andrew Trapp officiating. Final Commendation and Farewell Prayers will be said at Fairfield Memorial Cemetery. The viewing will take place at the church prior to the service, beginning at 10 o'clock, with a Rosary recited at 10:30 o'clock.
