Obituary

Blackburn Wilson Wylie, Jr., 65, of Columbia, died Friday, April 20, 2018, following a long illness. Born February 4, 1953, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Blackburn Wilson Wylie and Marguerite Ingram Wylie. Wilson grew up in Rock Hill and was a member of the Rock Hill High School Class of 1971. Though he had none of his own, children (and animals) loved him. Wilson is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Minerva Wylie Sanner and Dr. James R. Sanner, Jr., of Columbia; nephew and his wife, J. Ross Sanner, III, and Dr. Casey Elizabeth Sanner, and their daughter, Logan Marguerite Sanner, all of Burlington, VT.

A private graveside service for Wilson will be held in Rock Hill, SC. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Heartland of Columbia for their kind and compassionate care of Wilson.

Memorials may be made to the Senior Resources, Meals on Wheels, 2817 Millwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29205.
