Barbara W. Herndon, 78, of Columbia, died Sunday, June 10, 2018. Born September 25, 1939, in Kannapolis, NC, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Earl Watson and Annie E. Newsome Watson.

Mrs. Herndon was an active member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church, and served by sitting with senior adults, working in the Food Pantry, and countless other volunteer activities at her church. All who met her said she was the sweetest person they had ever met. She was a selfless individual who helped everyone, always putting others before herself.

Survivors include daughters, Angela Hicks (Ronny) and Kami Baldyga; grandchildren, Brandon Hicks (Anna), Brittani Harrington, Eric Hicks, and Gracie Hicks; great-grandson, Kipton Hogsett; sister, Katherine Speight; and brother, David Watson (Brenda).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Watson.

The service for Mrs. Herndon will be held 3 o'clock, Wednesday, June 13th, at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 6911 Two Notch Road, Columbia. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2 o'clock.
