Barbara Brazell Ingram, 77, of Columbia, died on Saturday, October 19, 2024. Born in Columbia, SC, on December 2, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Melton and Gertrude Campbell Brazell. Mrs. Ingram loved her Savior, being a mother to her two sons and a grandmother to her five grandchildren. She often proudly said, "my greatest blessings call me Bee", which is how her grandchildren affectionately referred to her. A graduate of Dentsville High School, she enjoyed her 45 year career with the SC Department of Agriculture. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia.
Survivors include her sons, Jonathan Hall Ingram (Ashley) and Benjamin Campbell Ingram (Emilie); five grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth, Caroline Anne, Emirie Hall, Benjamin Campbell, Jr., and Reeves Michael; as well as her two daughters of the heart, Dona Maria Ayers and Amy Elizabeth Lee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John Martin Ingram, and beloved sister, Sylvia Anne Brazell.
The funeral service for Mrs. Ingram will be held at 2 o'clock, Wednesday, October 23rd, in Boyce Chapel of First Baptist Church, 1306 Hampton Street, Columbia. Burial will follow the service at Jackson Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, October 22nd , from 5 until 7 o'clock, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Arial, Richie Corley, Justin Corley, Michael Corley, Nathan Helzer, Randy Spires, Stanley Ingram, and John Carwell. Those invited to serve as honorary pallbearers are her "Sisters of the Heart", Jan Patterson, Lynn Gibson, Jewell Dart, Nancy Kibler, Sandi Quick, Dottie Fisher, Deborah Gleaton, Bevelry Byars, and Virginia Frick.
