Barbara Kay White Kent, 76, of Columbia, died Sunday, November 25, 2018. Born August 27, 1942, in Sioux City, IA, she was a daughter of the late Dean White and Elsie White Anderson-Watson.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and was a homemaker for 22 years while her husband was serving in the US Army. She was previously employed by Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital for ten years. Barbara's family was first and foremost in her life, and in her spare time, she enjoyed making crafts, especially crocheting and needlework.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Rodney Lee Kent; daughter, Debra Monfils (Mark) of Elgin, SC; son, Michael Kent (Tiffany) of Cayce, SC; two grandchildren, Brooke Monfils of Elgin, SC, and Wyatt Kent of Cayce, SC; brother, Larry White (Angelique) of Texas and sister, Linda Ellis (Gary) of Iowa.

The service for Mrs. Kent will be held 11 o'clock, Wednesday, November 28th, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3909 Forest Drive, Columbia, SC, with the Reverend John Stoudemayer officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 27th from 5 until 6 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel
