Ms. Barbara Jo Quattlebaum's Obituary

Barbara J. Quattlebaum passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 14, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Barbara B. Quattlebaum. She was the granddaughter of the late Ben and Nora Brawley and the late Paul and Meta Quattlebaum.

Barbara was born in Columbia, SC. She graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1975. She went on to attend the University of South Carolina and graduated with a nursing degree. She served as an RN in the ICU unit as well as in dialysis. Upon her retirement, she cared for elderly family members, including her mother.

Barbara was affectionately known as "Cissy" by her family. She found pleasure in music and cooking. She was an avid Gamecock football fan and enjoyed tailgating. Barbara loved the beach, especially Folly Beach, SC, where she lived for several years.

She is survived by her mother, Barbara B. Quattlebaum, her brother Joel Quattlebaum, sisters Nora Q. Tillison and Sara Q. Parsons (Fred), and longtime love, Bruce Waldron. She is also survived by her nephew Christian Tillison and nieces Gabriel Tillison, Emma Ann Parsons, Wendy Parsons, and great niece and nephew Ethan Tillison and Ellaka Clark.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 o'clock am on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
