Barbara Redmond Salmons, 80, of Columbia, SC, passed away on May 5, 2025. Born on April 1, 1945, in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Willie J. Redmond and the late Addys Goodwin Redmond.

Barbara worked many years for various state agencies including Clemson University, SC ETV and the University of South Carolina. She had a passion for her flowers and her West Highland White Terriers as well as her family.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Wesley Salmons IV (Marielle) of Columbia, SC; Brother, Brian Redmond of Chapin, SC; Aunt, Wilma Goodwin of Chapin, SC; and many beloved cousins and nieces.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by, her husband of 55 years, Thomas Wesley Salmons III.

A funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC, 29223. Visitation will be held at 1 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, for family and friends to gather. Burial will follow the service at 3 o'clock at Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Ave, Columbia, SC, 29201.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Westie Rescue Fund at 1143 Hill Street Raynham, MA 02767, in loving memory of Mrs. Barbara Salmons.
