Barbara Allen Tobias, 91, of Blythewood, SC, died on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Born on June 2, 1934, in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Robert Henry Theodore Dixon and the late Ozella Geneva Hare Dixon.

She was a faithful member of the Blythewood Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Gale Tobias of Blythewood, SC; 7 grandchildren, Melissa Sadek (Mohammed) of Blythewood, SC, Michelle Roof (Robert) of Clarksville, TN, Michael Tobias, Jr. (Kaycie), Selena Hamby (Matthew) of Little Mountain, SC, Brittany Briggs of Elgin, SC, Lindsey Briggs of Blythewood, SC, and Teresa Tobias of Columbia, SC; three siblings, Ronald Dixon (Marveen) of Blythewood, SC, Helen Blume of Blythewood, SC, and Stanland Dixon (Joanne) of Blythewood, SC; 11 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Louis Clyde Tobias; daughter, Linda Tobias Madar; son, Michael Louis Tobias, Sr.; and 3 siblings, J.W. Dixon, Margaret Brazell, Tommy Dixon.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 5 until 7 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC 29203, for family and friends to gather. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 2 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Olympia Cemetery, 511 Granby Lane, Columbia, SC 29201.
