Martha Rebecca "Becky" Johnson, 90, of Blythewood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2017. Born on January 18, 1927 in Florence, SC, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Wesley and Agnes Pauline Simpson Mabry. Mrs. Johnson attended the University of South Carolina where she received an undergraduate degree in Biology and a Masters in Counseling. Over the years, Mrs. Johnson was employed by: South Carolina State Park Sanitarium, DHEC, Children's Bureau (DSS), and Pella Window & Door Company. She enjoyed fishing, collecting native American relics, horseback riding, art, bridge, crossword puzzles, good friends, and the Blythewood community. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna E. Johnson of Columbia; son, Mark S. Johnson (Mariam) of New Bern, NC; grandchildren, Melissa M. Rayner of Spartanburg and Joshua L. Rayner (Agustina) of the Netherlands (formerly of Houston, TX); and great grandchildren, Katalina, Nolan, Amelia and Lucia; brother-in-law, M. R. "Sonny" Johnson (Motsy) of Greenville, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Gene" P. Johnson.
The service for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 2 o'clock, Saturday, December 16th at Trinity United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 1 o'clock in the church fellowship hall.
