Ms. Beth T. Collum's Obituary
Beth Thompson Collum, 86, of Columbia, died on Thursday, May 1, 2025 after a brief illness. Born in Columbia, SC on December 26, 1938, she was a beloved daughter of the late Lee Woodrow and Anna Louise (Yobs) Thompson.
She is survived by her son, Derek Collum (Michelle); granddaughter, Lindsey J. Collum, all of Jacksonville, FL; and sister, Anita Parker, of Columbia, SC.
She was predeceased by her parents, sister, Judy Beaver and a brother, Lee W Thompson, Jr.
Ms. Collum was employed by the SC Vocational Rehabilitation Dept. as an HR Specialist for 31 years before retiring. Many of her coworkers became her closest friends.
She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a talented seamstress and loved spending her time creating a beautifully landscaped yard.
A private service will be held at a future date. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
