Betty Jo "BJ" Kaiser Epps, of Columbia, died Sunday, August 27, 2017 after a short illness. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Knowlton and Mable Matheson Kaiser. BJ was a retired CPA and was a member of Holland Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sister, Annie (Francis) Eveleigh; nieces, Amy (Gaetan) Fraikin, and Nancy (Juan) Copa; great-nieces, Chanel, Alexandra, and Maggie; a great-nephew, Christopher; step-daughter, Rebecca Epps; sisters-in-law, Ginger (Richard) DuBose, Mary (Dennis) Goginsky; as well as many other extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Lynn Epps.

A funeral service will be held 1:30 o'clock, Tuesday, August 29th at Holland Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Dow Welsh officiating. Interment will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:30 o'clock. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
