Obituary

Betty J. Carter, 90, of Lexington, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018. Born on July 18, 1928, Betty was the daughter of the late Mr. Ellis Theo Johnson and Aileen Storey Johnson. She was a member of Saint Luke's Lutheran Church in Olympia. Betty loved to shop but more than that she loved being a "granny".

Mrs. Carter is survived by her children, Monti Caughman (J.R.) and Phillip Carter (Debra); grandchildren, Jason Caughman, Brandon Caughman, Jeremy Carter (Casey) and Bret Carter (Becky); great grandchildren, Rae and Cora; brother, Wayne Johnson (Sandra); nephews, Phil and Randy; and a niece, Caroline. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.M. "Fatman" Carter; and a great granddaughter, Gracie.

A graveside service for Mrs. Carter will be held 3 o'clock, Monday, November 26th at Olympia Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the residence of Phillip and Debra Carter on Sunday, November 25th from 5-7 in the evening. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
