Betty Richardson Gordon, 77, of Columbia, died on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Born in Conway, South Carolina on April 18, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Fannie Ida Richardson.

Betty graduated from Eau Claire High School and retired from Tripp's Dry Cleaning, where she worked in management. She was a true firecracker, tiny but mighty and never afraid to speak her mind. Betty had a gift for gab and could easily talk to anyone. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time in the mountains and on Folly Beach.

Survivors include her six children, Lisa Porter, Kelly Peeples (Ted), Paul Gordon (Kim), Angie Dembowski (Eric), Davy Gordon, Wade Gordon (Ameena); as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Claudia Benton; and grandson, Paul Williams.

The Celebration of Life for Ms. Gordon will be held at 2 o'clock, on Sunday, May 7th, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Drive Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock.
