Betty Faye Helblig, 74, of Columbia, died Sunday, August 26, 2018. Betty was born Horry County, SC, on April 17, 1944.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Norman R. Helblig; sons, Michael Helblig, Roddney Helblig,and Richard Helblig; a daughter, Misty M. Helblig; grandchildren, Brandi Vicario, Zach Mains, Mary Elizabeth Helblig, and Steven Ott; sisters, Linda Cash Kirk, Doris F. Boatwright, and Kathy Nelson; sister-in-law, Ila Mae Sarvis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Rachel Louella Fipps; and six brothers.

The funeral service for Mrs. Helblig will be held 2 o'clock, Friday, August 31st, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia with Rev. James A. Goudelock officiating. Burial will follow the service in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock.
