Obituary
Betty Delores McLaughlin, 87, of Newberry, died Friday, July 12, 2019. Born September 28, 1931, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Harold Monroe and Helen O'Niel Jones.
Betty started her career path at the early age of twelve, designing hats in Philadelphia, which led to a brief modeling career and later sales in the clothing industry. Betty later contributed to the success of her sons' various businesses. She then completed her life, dedicated to the loving care of her family, for which she was deeply loved by them all.
Survivors include her children, Frank Keck (Pam) of Newberry, Lee McLaughlin (Donna) of James Island, Scott McLaughlin (Cheryl) of Chapin, Beth McLaughlin of Columbia, and Gwen Williams (Wayne) of Irmo; grandchildren, Todd, Chase, Lawson, Madison, Sean, Callie, Bobbie Lee and Kristen, as well as her great grandchildren, Caroline, Brody, Jacob, and Garnet. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank L. Keck, III; son, Bruce McLaughlin, and her grandson Bruce McLaughlin, Jr.
Services for Mrs. McLaughlin will be private.
Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
