Betty Jo Faulkenberry Nick, 92, of Columbia, died Thursday, September 8, 2022. She was born in rural Kershaw County, SC, on August 22, 1930, to the late Ferris Faulkenberry, Sr. and Minnie Ogburn Faulkenberry. She was a homemaker, having been married to the late John Robert Nick, Sr. for 65 years.

Mrs. Nick is survived by her daughter, Melissa Breed (Jeffrey) of Lexington; son, John Robert Nick, Jr. (Mary) of Columbia; grandchildren, Vachon Martin (Calvin), Amanda Rauh (Jonathan), and Laura Bourdeau (Nate); great-grandchildren, John Wyatt Bourdeau, James Landon Bourdeau, Jonah Allgood Martin, William Ellis Rauh, Thomas Grady Rauh, and Sophia Grace Bourdeau. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and one sister-in-law. Special recognition is also given to Bobby Bullock.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Robert Allgood Bullock, III and twelve siblings.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses of Amedisys Hospice, as well as her caretakers, Jessica, Kristen, Tina, Ivy, Leanne, Lisa H., Lisa W., Grigsby, and Sadie.

The memorial service for Mrs. Nick will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday, September 13th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC with Pastor David Bentley officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock.
