Betty Roof Outen, 81, peacefully passed away at Jenni-Lynn Assisted Living on Sunday, October 22, 2023. Betty was born in Blythewood, SC on October 3, 1942 to Kathryn Byrd Roof and Frank Eugene Roof, Jr. She attended Columbia College and retired from SCE&G in their Craft/Training Department.

Betty was preceded by her husband, Bennie Leigh Outen; her parents, Frank (Virginia) Roof, Jr and Kathryn (James) Kicidis; and her younger brother, Kenneth Roof.

She is survived by her two children, Michael (Jandy) Fulmer and Catherine (John) Bowers, four grandchildren and her older brother, Melton (Helen) Roof.

Betty's favorite flowers were white daisies. In lieu of flowers for her or the family, please consider purchasing a bouquet of white daisies and send them to one of your loved ones.

The memorial service for Mrs. Outen will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday, November 18th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC.

Interment will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Bennie Outen, who served in WWII.
