Beverly Jackolyn "Jackie" Brown, 77, of Columbia, died on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Born in Hartford, Alabama, on July 16 1944, she was a daughter of the late Grady Dupree and Ruby Plunkett Majors.
Jackie never turned away from a challenge and always stood up for what she believed in. She was adventurous and loved to try new things. She was a caring daughter, sister, mother and friend. She was young at heart. A member of North Trenholm Baptist Church, she loved the Lord and served him as a member of the Church Choir for many years. Jackie had the gift of hospitality, was a great cook, and loved music and to sing.
Survivors include her daughter, Sydney Gaddis (Gordon); grandchildren, Catherine and Grady; siblings, Glenn Majors (Linda), Pam Stewart, Kathy Dunlap (Gerry); nieces and nephews, John Majors (Amanda), Jeremy Majors (Holly), Josh Majors (Jen), Sara (Zach) Claxton, Kimberly South (Billy), Jennifer Dunlap, Katie (Sammy) Dunlap.
The funeral service for Ms. Brown will be held at 2 o'clock, Sunday, July 17th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, with the Rev. Joe Copeland and the Rev. David Kapp officiating. Burial will follow the service in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 1 o'clock.
