West Columbia – A memorial service to celebrate the life of Beverly Goff Lucado will be held 2 o'clock, Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Saluda River Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service, beginning at 1 o'clock. Burial in Woodridge Memorial Park will be private. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
Mrs. Lucado was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, The Reverend Charles Henry Lucado, one brother, five sisters, and one granddaughter, Theresa Suzanne Riggs.
Mrs. Lucado died Monday, December 21, 2015. She was born in Columbia on October 2, 1923. Her parents were William Hinson Goff and Sydney Shuler Goff. She was a charter member of Saluda River Baptist Church. Beverly will be missed by family and friends.
Foremost, Mrs. Lucado was a pastor's wife and helper, serving in many capacities in churches in Indiana, Tennessee, and South Carolina. She was retired from Foster Dixiana Sand, Inc. and was formerly employed at the Shakespeare Company in the corporate financial office and at Association Management Services where she served as Executive Director of the South Carolina Association of Independent Banks.
Survivors include a son, Charles B. Lucado (Carolyn) of Greenville, SC; a daughter, Beverly L. Riggs (Mike) of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren, Dwight Lucado, Dawn L. Thomas (John), and Jesse Riggs. Also surviving are 11 great-grandchildren and a brother, Sidney S. Goff (Sue) of Reevesville, SC; a number of special nieces and nephews, members and friends at Saluda River Baptist Church, and her many friends at Agape Village.
