Columbia - Beverly Krag Lunceford, 83, died Sunday, November 6, 2016, in Columbia, SC. Born October 8, 1933, in Memphis TN, she was the daughter of Don Taylor and Mildred Fisher Krag.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister, William Krag and Donna Capone, as well as her son, Emmett M. Lunceford, III, of Columbia.
Survivors include her son, Stephen (Carrie) Lunceford, daughter-in-law, Mrs. Emmett (Cathi) Lunceford, III and five grandchildren, Taylor, Carson, Ashton, Emmett and Logan.
Beverly moved to Columbia as a newlywed in 1953 with her husband, Dr. Emmett Marvin Lunceford, Jr., where they began their family and became an active part of the community for many years to follow. She lived a full and healthy life as a stay at home mother and, later in her life, as a care giver to her parents and siblings. She was loved by all her family and was known for having a big heart and as one who never met a stranger. Her love for her family was her life blood along with her Christian values and joyful spirit.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials may be made to the University of South Carolina Educational Foundation, Lunceford/Moore Chair of Orthopaedic Research specified, and sent to Lunceford/ Moore Chair, 1027 Barnwell Street Columbia, SC 29208
