William E. "Bill" Jones, Sr., 90, of Columbia, died Friday, December 21, 2018. Born in Edgecombe County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Emory and Nannie Davenport Jones. Bill was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a member of Northeast Presbyterian Church. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jean Jenkins Jones; children, William E. "Bill" Jones, Jr., Kathryn "Kathy" Dupuy (Tony), and Benjamin "Ben" Jones. He is also survived by a grandson, Charles Dupuy (Elise) and great granddaughter, Vivien Dupuy.

The service for Mr. Jones will be held at 2 o'clock, Friday, December 28th at Northeast Presbyterian Church, 601 Polo Road, Columbia. The Rev. Dr. George D. Crow III will officiate. A private burial will precede the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 o'clock.

Memorials may be sent to your local VFW or to a charity of one's choice. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
