Mrs. Billie Jo Roberts, 75, of Columbia, died Saturday, June 14, 2014 at her residence. Born April 10, 1939, in Henderson, KY, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Grady McAtee, Sr. and Mary Katherine McAtee. Billie Jo served with the W.A.A.C.'s in the early sixty's. She worked as an office assistant with Caring Healthcare, Inc. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Columbia, and also attended Eason Memorial Baptist Church. She was a devout Christian and prayer warrior.

Survivors include her children, James E. Roberts II (Rene), Gwendelyn Biggerstaff (Charles), Tina M. Spears (David); 16 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; siblings, Betty Dean Iarocci, Marvin McAtee, Tina Todd. In addition to her parents, Billie Jo was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Roberts, Sr.; son, Ricky Allen Roberts; and siblings, Carolyn Doepel, Mary Evelyn Barret and Stanley McAtee, Jr..

The funeral service for Mrs. Roberts will be held 11 o'clock, Friday, June 20th, at Boyce Chapel of First Baptist Church, 1306 Hampton St, Columbia, with The Rev. David Spears officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service, beginning at 10 o'clock, and following the burial at the home of her son, James Roberts.
