Bobby Truesdale, 89, of Columbia, SC, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Providence Health, Forest Drive. He was born to the late Eva Blake Horton and Seaborn LeRoy Truesdale, on April 8, 1931 in Kershaw, SC.
Bobby graduated from Kershaw High School and received a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy in 1959. He was a registered pharmacist for over 40 years in Columbia. He enjoyed his work as a pharmacist and helping many of his clients over the years. Bobby loved his Gamecock football and never missed watching or attending a game. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his daughters, Carla Truesdale-McNiff (Daniel), Susan Elaine Truesdale Houck (Michael) all of Columbia; niece, Anna Blake Sims, of Kershaw; along with many nephews, cousins, and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Bobbie Anne Jones; brother, Blake Truesdale; and sister, Glenda West.
The family would like to thank The Palmetto's of Parklane NHC, nurses, nurse technicians, activity therapist, and everyone who took excellent care of our father. Staff members were supportive and attentive to his daily needs. We would also like to thank HEART of HOSPICE staff for their care and compassion.
Due to COVD-19 restrictions and safety precautions, a private graveside service will be held on January 20, 2021 at Elmwood Cemetery. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bobby's name to a charity of one's choice.
