Bonnie Mae Guyton Currie, 97, of Columbia, died Monday, April 27, 2015. Born in Columbia on July 8, 1917 she was a daughter of the late John and Bertha Cornelius Guyton. Widow of the late Benjamin Walter Currie, she was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Jean (L.C.) Maynard of Benson, NC, Beverly Kodek of Columbia, and Mary Ellen Boozer of Chapin; six grandsons; eleven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jim Boozer.

A funeral service for Mrs. Currie will be held at 1 o'clock, Thursday, April 30th at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia with The Rev. Harry S. Girtman and The Rev. Brenda Kneece officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery, Columbia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, prior to the service, beginning at 12 o'clock. Memorials may be made to Belmont Baptist Church, 901 Mason Rd, Columbia, SC 29203.
