Mrs. Bonnie Josephine Pemberton Sokol, 91, of Columbia, died Monday, March 20th, the first day of Spring. Born in Grundy, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Augustus and Victoria Matney, and was a member of Northeast Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Sokol is survived by her sons, Floyd J. Pemberton (Sharon), Michael E. Pemberton (Charlene), Bradford L. Pemberton (Robyn), Paul K. Pemberton (Andrea); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and first husband, Floyd Pemberton and second husband, Tom Sokol, she was preceded in death by a son, Harold Thomas Pemberton.

A graveside service to celebrate her life, will be held 11 o'clock, Saturday, March 25th at Northeast Presbyterian Church Cemetery with The Rev. Dr. George D. Crow, III officiating. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
