Mr. Boyd William Price, 91, of Columbia, died Monday, January 16, 2017 in Concord, NC where he resided for the past 18 months. Born in Blythewood on June 28, 1925, he was the son of the late Boyd M. and Mamie Abell Price. Boyd worked in the engineering department of the SC Department of Mental Health at Crafts-Farrow. He was a member of Eau Claire Baptist Church and former longtime member of Belmont Baptist Church. Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is assisting the family.

Survivors include his son, Stephen M. (Judy) Price; grandson, Ross (Paige) Johnson; great-grand daughters, Emily and Sydney Johnson, all of Concord, NC; a sister, Margaret (John) Price of Blythewood; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Boyd was predeceased by his wife, H. Ernestene Price and sisters, Irene Entzminger, Rachael Oxner, and Emma Mae Ballentine.

A graveside service will be held 2 o'clock, Thursday, January 19th at Memorial Gardens of Columbia, 9301 Wilson Boulevard, Columbia, with The Rev. James A. Goudelock officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 1:30 o'clock at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Eau Claire Baptist, Church, 4427 North Main Street, Columbia, SC 29203, to the American Heart Assoc., 190 Knox Abbott Drive, Suite 301, Cayce, SC 29033 or to the Alzheimer's Assoc, SC Chapter, PO Box 280, Charleston, SC 29402. Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is assisting the family.
