Gerald Sease, 81, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 15, 2018. Born January 5, 1937 in Gilbert, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Janie Rawl Sease, and is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cathy; and two beloved dogs, Olie and Tucker.

In 1975 he married Cathy, probably under duress, as they had been together since 1970. They spent many years as devoted Gamecock fans, attending and travelling to games. Tailgating with friends at Carolina Park around his custom-made, well stocked, tailgate box was a favorite pastime. Golf was another passion. He was a former member of Columbia Country Club, Spring Valley Golf Club and Musgrove Mill Golf Club.

Gerald began his career selling real estate after completing four years in the military, and graduating from the University of South Carolina. He then ventured into the then up and coming area of computer forms, before starting his own business, Data Tec Business Forms. His customers looked forward to summer when Gerald would show up at their office with bags of homegrown tomatoes.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 o'clock, Friday, June 22, 2018, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext.

The family expresses appreciation for the care and support provided by those Agape Hospice House.
