Brenda Kaye Taylor, 76, of Columbia, SC, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Brenda was born on April 26, 1949, in Columbia, SC, to William and Arbutus Taylor. A lifelong resident of Columbia, she devoted many faithful years of service to the Columbia Area Mental Health Center before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Arbutus Taylor, and her brother, Richard Stewart Taylor. She is survived by her beloved twin sister, Linda Sharpe Taylor of Charlotte; her nieces, Jessica Anne Sharpe, Leslie Sharpe Stone, and Tonja Smith Goudelock; and many cherished great-nieces and great-nephews.

Brenda was known for her unwavering faith in Christ and her deep commitment to serving others. She never missed an opportunity to help someone in need or spread a little joy. She remembered every birthday and was a bright ray of sunshine to those around her. Brenda treasured her time with family and poured her heart into her relationships with her sister, nieces, great-nieces and nephews, friends, and church family.

The funeral service for Ms. Taylor will be held at 1:30 o'clock, Saturday, December 13th, at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 1920 Cedar Creek Road, Blythewood. Burial will follow in Killian Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 12:30. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
