Brett Lane Padgett, 21, of Elgin, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021. Born January 27, 2000, in Columbia, SC, he was a son of Brad L. Padgett of Elgin and Susan Elizabeth Haney Padgett of Columbia. Brett was an avid outdoorsman and had an adventurous spirit. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding dirt bikes. Brett was always the first to lend a helping hand to family members or friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and having fun. Brett was an employee of Ram Jack South Carolina.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his stepmother, Susan Kaye Yaeger; brother, Matthew Brad Padgett (Lana) of St. George, SC; stepsister, Rebekah Campbell (Ian) of Summerville, SC; nephews, Matthew Sawyer Padgett and Luca Campbell; niece, Lucy Elaine Padgett; maternal grandmother, Brenda Crain (Bud) of Ridgeway, SC; paternal grandmother, Alice "Mimi" Padgett of Columbia; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and other extended family. Brett was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, L. David Padgett.

The graveside service for Brett will be held 11 o'clock Friday, August 13th at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Rd, Columbia, SC 29209. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Thursday evening at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC.
