Bryan Malone Catoe

Bryan Malone Catoe, 68, of Columbia, died on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Born on June 30, 1958, in Columbia, he was the son of Donnie O. Catoe and Dora Carleen Newton Catoe. In his youth, Bryan was a professional skateboarder and a dirtbike enthusiast. He graduated from the University of South Carolina where he earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering. Bryan was currently employed as an engineer with Linglong Tire. He was a member of Shandon Baptist Church and enjoyed boating in his spare time.

Survivors include his daughters, Meredith Salley and Carlee Catoe; sisters, Donna Susan Hurtak (Jerome) and Laura C. Hampe (David), as well as his loyal companion, Handle.

A visitation will be held from 4 until 6 o’clock on Tuesday, September 8th at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia, SC.

The graveside service will be held at 11 o’clock on Wednesday, September 9th at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC, with Rev. Joey Huggins officiating.

Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
