Calvin "Al" Gooding, 67, of Columbia, died Monday, November 20, 2017. Born in Columbia, SC, on September 2, 1950, he was a son of the late Calvin B. Gooding and Madge Watts Gooding. Al loved gospel music and promoted gospel groups. He was a previous member of Jackson Creek Baptist Church and Woodfield Park Baptist Church. Most recently, he attended Lower Richland Church of Christ with his friend, Brenda Winsted.

Al is survived by his daughter, Brittany Gooding; as well as many extended family members. In addition to his parents, Al is preceded in death by his brother, Roy.

The funeral service for Mr. Gooding will be held 10:30 o'clock, Saturday, November 25th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. The family will greet friends following the service. For memorial suggestions, please contact the family.
