Mr. Carl Matthew Meetze, 72, of Columbia, died Saturday, November 3, 2012. Born on September 8, 1940 in Columbia, he was a son of the late Carl M. Meetze, Sr. and Mary Hazel Chavis Meetze. Mr. Meetze was a member of College Place United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Meetze; son, Jerry Meetze of HI; stepsons, David Dollar of Tallahasee, FL, John and Michael Dollar both of Columbia; and a sister, Ruth (Gene) Crumpton of Columbia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Meetze.

A graveside service for Mr. Meetze, Jr. will be held 2 o'clock, Monday, November 5th, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, with The Rev. Steven W. Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock at Shives Funeral Home, 5202 Colonial Dr., Columbia.
