It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Carleen N. Catoe, 91, of Columbia, SC, after a short illness.

Carleen was a loving mother of her three children; daughters, Donna Hurtak (Jerome) of Miami, FL and Laura Hampe (David) of Columbia and son, Bryan Catoe of Columbia. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Joanie Hurtak, Mary Elizabeth Hurtak, Haley Hampe, Salley Catoe, and Carlie Catoe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton S. Newton and Dora Baker Newton; husband, Donnie Olin Catoe; brothers, Carlton S. "Buddy" Newton, Jr., and Joseph Newton, as well as a granddaughter, Melissa Lynn Hampe.

Carleen was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church since 1941 and still attended until her passing. Carleen loved gardening and was passionate about her role as a director with Beauti-Control cosmetics. During her short illness, she was lovingly cared for by Laura Hampe and her son-In law, David Hampe

The graveside service for Mrs. Catoe will be held at 1 o'clock, Saturday, May 4th, at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens, 2603 Two Notch Rd, Columbia, SC.

Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family.
