Obituary
Mrs. Carlotta Cannon Daniels, 83, of Columbia, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024. She was born to the late Mr. William A. Cannon, Sr. and Mrs. Dale McCoy Cannon on September 3, 1940 in Greenville, SC.
Carlotta was a long-time member and attendee of the Magruder Chapel on Fort Jackson and loved to attend her regular meetings with her Bible Study group on Monday mornings. She retired from Siebels Bruce Insurance Company after many years. She loved birdwatching, especially her hummingbirds, which she would place a feeder for every spring. She enjoyed card games and watching the Hallmark Channel. She loved spending time with her great-grandchildren and was affectionately known to them as "GiGi".
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Lee; brothers, Willam A. Cannon, Jr. and Chester Cannon; grandson, Robert J. Lee (Samantha); and great grandchildren, Finley Lee and Kayden Ernst.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 28 years, Walter E. Daniels; children, Frankie Phillips and Jackie Phillips; brother, Jack Cannon; and son-in-law, Bobby Lee.
The family would like to thank Lighthouse Hospice and South Carolina House Calls, Karen McCain FNP, for her wonderful end of life care.
Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, is assisting the family and will announce further plans.
