Carmen Ortiz age 81 of Jayuya, Puerto Rico and Columbia, SC, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 surrounded by her daughter (Norma), son in law (Raul) grandchildren (Noralis & Paul; Stephanie & Vincent, & Kevin) and great grandson (James) at home. Born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico on February 20, 1942, Carmen was the daughter of Norberto Ortiz and Gloria Ruiz.

Carmen is survived by her children: Wanda Andujar, Angel Andujar, Norma Ortiz, and Luis Andujar and siblings: Nelson Ortiz, Angel Ortiz, Carlos Ortiz, and Bertino Ortiz. In addition to being a mother and wife, Carmen was a loving Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Sister.

Carmen lived life to the fullest and her love of family was always her priority. She is remembered by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Carmen loved to cook and showed her love by cooking for every and all occasions.

Family and friends will always remember her for her energy, love, and feistiness. Carmen will forever be in our hearts!

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 o'clock, Monday, November 27th, at Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel, 7600 Trenholm Road Ext., Columbia. Burial will be held in Cementerio Municipal de Jayuya, Jayuya, Puerto Rico.
