Carol Ann Conklin Kern, 85, of Columbia, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021. Born on June 24, 1936, in the Bronx, New York, she was a daughter of the late John Conklin and Margaret Hampton Conklin.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Kern Sr.; son, Robert Kern II; daughter, Jennifer Ann Kern Dixon (Kevin Nepaul); granddaughter, Rebekah J. Kern; and her brother-in-law, Richard Kern (Anne). In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, John Conklin (Josephine), Lorraine Smith (William), and Joan Brady.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Kern will be at 10:30 o'clock, Friday, September 24th, 2021, at The Church of The Good Shepherd, 1512 Blanding Street, Columbia, SC. Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel is assisting the family. Final Commendation and Farewell Prayers will be said at 10 o'clock on Monday, October 4th at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC.
